I changed hosting on a domain/email account. I also changed the password. I did not delete the existing email since there is old meail I do not want to lose. I cleared all the saved passwords in TB, did send/receive. I was given the textbox to enter the password. After doing that However, I receive the error

Sending of password for user x@xx.com did not succeed. Mail server "pop server name" responded: Temporary authentication failure. ["pop server name": 2021-11-19 19:09:33] the "pop server name" is correct.

Then when I look in the TB saved passwords I see that the new entry shows the OLD Pop server. While there may be an authentication problem with the new "pop server", why do I see the OLD server in the saved list?

Changing an existing account usually is a bad idea. Create a new account for the new server. Since your old account is POP all your mail is on your local disk, so nothing gets lost. Having said that, create a full backup of your Thunderbird profile before starting to mess with it. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_backing-up-a-profile
