Hi,

I don't understand what is "primary password". My password to connect to my firefox sync is working, but each time i am asked by a pop up window to enter my primary password. I put the one from my firefox sync but not working! nightmare

I have discovered that functionality of the built-in Password Manager can be affected by 3rd Party Password Managers running on your system.

One example I know will impinge upon proper use of the Firefox Primary Password is if you have the Trend Micro Password Manager installed on your computer. I was not using Trend's Manager and as soon as I uninstalled it.. Firefox's Primary Password on the Password Manager started working right.

Other installed Password Manager programs in your computer may cause similar issues with having the one in Firefox functioning right.

Hope this helps. Let us know..

Using Sync is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password at startup. This is because the credentials to login to the Sync account are stored in the Password Manager and you need to enter the Primary Password to unlock the passwords and connect/login to the Sync account.
