Spell Check stuck on US dictionary
I want to use the UK dictionary in the Thunderbird Spell Check. In Tools/Preferences the dictionary language is US English. I have tried to change the language to GB by downloading the GB dictionary. In add-ons/languages the only language shown is GB English.
I have closed the PC (using Windows 11) and restarted TB but the dictionary is still stuck on US.
How can I change the dictionary to GB, please?
I have checked the dictionary settings in Win 11, they are set to GB English.
Thank you.

Add-ons & Themes is on the root menu if the appmenu icon is clicked, but under Tools on the Menu Bar (press alt if it's hidden). See attached pictures.
The xpi file that was downloaded should be wherever your browser stores downloaded files, typically Downloads in File Explorer.

If add-ons/languages shows GB English, that means you have the GB English language pack installed, which affects the language of the menus and toolbars. If you had the GB English dictionary installed, it would appear under add-ons/Dictionaries. Language packs and spellcheck dictionaries are separate items.
Right-click the Download Now button, Save link as..., download the xpi file, then in Tools/Add-ons & Themes, click the Tools icon under the Search box, Install add-on from file..., select the xpi file. Then in Preferences/Composition/Spelling, select the GB English dictionary.
Thank you for your reply. I have tried to follow your instructions but I cannot find an xpi file. As you can see from the attachment the Tools menu does not have Add-ons & Themes so I am a bit stuck.
regards.
