Contact list
As of today, my contact list is now all alphabetical whereas yesterday, by using spacing with the contact name, I could have the fifteen most used contacts at the top of the list. Now, it seems to be no longer possible. Why the change to something that was working great and now is time consuming to search for the right contact. I may quit Thunderbird and go to Gmail.

Have you tried changing the options for addressbook, as attachment shows? It may help if you post a screenshot of what you are seeing. Is it that the entries with leading spaces are not appearing at the top?
Response sentence #1: Don't know how to do what you are suggesting. Response sentence #2: Why? It's a list of addresses from A to Z. Response sentence #3: Yes! Per original email (below)

The screenshot I posted is viewable at tools>addressbook. I'm not sure why you aren't able to see it. It's a dropdown menu.
David, I go to Tools>Address Book and I see nothing there from you. Please just tell me how to get my favorite email addresses back up to the top of the list. Thanks, Jim
please read online my response. there is an attachment image there.
I have the same problem. To restate it: My address book is sorted by last name. Formerly, if I put a space before the name, that (frequently used) address would move to the top of the list. In 102, that does not happen, and I would like to restore that functionality -- ie having a few frequently used contacts at the top of the list.
Now I understand. I have always used alt and 7 key =, which puts a little dot to the left of display name. It's visible, but non-intrusive. What you used previously wasn't a function, but a setting that worked for you.
