Hello Since few week I’m not able to use fiorefox on my iOS devices (iOS 16.5). The application is unusable :( it crashes in few seconds even if I don’t try to open new tabs. I tried to remove the app and reinstall again Firefox but without success at the moment I have the version 114.3. Do you have any suggestions on what I can try? I don’t know if this can help but Firefox focus and DuckDuckGo browser are working fine on my devices (I guess they share a good amount of the Firefox source code)

Thanks a lot Andrea

Hi

I am sorry to hear that Firefox for iOS is crashing. I hope that we can help resolve this for you. Before following the steps below, please make sure that you have updated both your iOS device and Firefox for iOS to the latest versions available.

As a first step, close down many of the tabs that you have open to as few as possible. Does this help reduce the incidence of a crash?

If this does not resolve the issue, open the iOS Settings app, select General then iPhone Storage. Find Firefox and select Offload App. Does this help?

Failing that, we will need to look into this in more detail with some logs from inside your copy of Firefox for iOS. This article will walk you through getting both crash logs and Firefox logs. When you have them, please file them here (a GitHub account is required) so that our developers can look into this further for you.

I hope that this helps.

Dear Paul I’m very sorry for the very late reply. The app crashes even with just 1 tab opened (the frequency seems the same with more tabs). I’ll follow up your suggestions for the log file, but I think the issues comes from the sync of the logins between devices. If I turn off the logins synchronisation (but keeping on bookmarks history and tabs) the app seems to work. I’ve noticed that once I have reinstalled the app.

Best Andrea
