'i am now using thunderbird to get my emails. i have two accounts- aol and gmail. when i open the thunderbird app, the emails are not joined, they are separated and i have to scroll to each account to review my emails, is there a way to join both accounts and review both aol and gmail emails at one time? thanks

Easy, it's called 'unified folders' in Thunderbird. Assuming you are on current release (115), click the three dots to the right of 'new message' button and click folder modes and then unified folders.
