So running thunderbird 115.10.1 (64-bit) and more and more issues:

  • the app keeps getting non-responsive for long period of time, to fix this I have to force quit the app.
  • at times when composing an email the app freezes where no typing occurs for seconds or typing is very slow or after typing awhile the text suddenly appears.

Seems to be happening more and more trying to figure out how it can return back to it's rockstar state when it was <99 version.

any help would be appreciated.

So this is a continuation of the issue you posted in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1387060 but you did not reply there.

Does the situation improve in Help > Troubleshoot Mode ?

Thanks for the response. Guess I didn't get that email notification for the previous post. I've enabled troubleshooting mode and I'll test it out to see if there are any of the issues above.

If the settings work is there a way to retain those instead of reverting back? I have extensions installed by they were all disabled when this issue repeatedly occurred.

@Wayne Mery

So running in troubleshooting mode for about a week. I"m still seeing the same issues.

- randomly - thunderbird, still not responding at times (application not responding) - randomly - thunderbird, has to be force quit when the app doesn't recover timely. - randomly - thunderbird, when typing, the keystroke to text appearing is notably delayed doesn't resolve quickly and at times it shows seconds later if you're typing. - randomly - thunderbird, CPU utilization at 100%+

It's the only app on multiple macOS devices that this occurs.

what's the next step to resolve these issues?

Hi,

Any solution to this issue? anyway to isolate the issue. Thunderbird is constantly needing to be force quitted because it's unresponsive.
