Go to "Tools -> Options -> Security" then uncheck "Remember passwords for sites".

Disabling the Firefox Password Manager won't remove already stored passwords. You need to remove those yourself. Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
