Can I use Active Client on Firefox
We use smart cards to access certain web sites. In IE the site recognizes the smart card and allows access to the site. However, when using firefox it never recognizes the smart card and will not allow me access.
I prefer using firfox to IE. Is there a way I can set up active client to run on firefox?

I see this plugin in your plugins list: ActiveTouch General Plugin Container Version 105
Is that plugin related to that card reader?
Does that card reader support the current Firefox 3.6.9 version?
Did it work with previous Firefox versions?
If it uses ActiveX then it won't work in Firefox without a specific plugin for Firefox.
ActiveTouch seems to be related to WebEx sessions that I have been a part of and not related to the card reader.
This has never worked on Firefox that I know of.
I don't know if Active Client uses ActiveX.
If you're using ActiveClient on a Windows box and Mozilla browser, try this:
1. In Mozilla menu, click Tools => Options.
2. In the dialog box, click Advanced.
3. Click the Encryption tab and then click the Security Devices button.
4. That should pop up a window titled Device Manager. Click the button marked "Load".
5. Enter a unique name for "Module Name" and then click Browse.
6. Navigate to where ActiveClient files are located on your computer... something like C:\Program Files\ActivIdentity\ActivClient\
7. Find file named acpkcs211.dll. Select it, and then click Open button.
8. Click OK, etc. to get back to Mozilla.
You may need to close and restart the browser, but I think that should do it for you.
Received a "Could not load Module" alert
Try it through Program Files (x86).
Also, if you want to set up pass-thru authentication to your work websites in conjunction with using your smart card follow these steps:
1) Open Firefox and type “about:config” in the address bar. (without the quotes of course) 2) In the ‘Filter’ field type the following “network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris” 3) Double click the name of the preference that we just searched for 4) Enter the URLs of the sites you wish to pass NTLM auth info to in the form of:
http://intranet.company.com,http://email.company.lan
5) Notice that you can use a comma separated list in this field.
