Firefox 4 doesn't save tabs even after I change the settings to display the "Save and Quit" message.

As the title states. Basically after I changed the settings using the "about:config" method and ONLY the settings the support topic told me to change Firefox 4 still doesn't actually save the tabs after quitting. After resetting FF4 just restarts me at my homepage. Now I'm only trying to save anywhere between 2 and 5 tabs at most.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.

You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session.

There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page. Another possibility is to use:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

If that doesn't work then check that you aren't running Firefox in permanent Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode.
