Problems with your new upgrade

more options

Don't you have a phone number so I can talk to a live person? On the new upgrade, when I go to bookmarks and I go to a particular folder, the urls in the folder used to be to the right of the arrow. Now the arrow still points to the right but the urls appear to the left. On the toolbar, new tabs used to be below the toolbar, now they are above it. This is like backwards.

You can move the bookmarks pop-up menu to the very left end of the bar if you prefer. View > Toolbars > Customize

You also can move the tabs below the toolbars if you prefer. View > Toolbars > uncheck Tabs on Top

I appreciate you are trying to answer my question but when I went to Toolbar /Customize, I didn't see anything to fix the two problems I refer to. I am computer illiterate and I am used to having customer service help me fix something. Frankly, I resent the fact that Mozilla doesn't offer live help. So I guess I'll just have to use Safari and forget about Mozilla unless someone can help me fix this.

Sorry, those were two separate steps. To move the tabs from above the toolbars to below the toolbars, you don't need to use Customize.

View > Toolbars > uncheck Tabs on Top

Regarding customizing, it's fun and easy. Once you choose Customize, a box will appear showing available buttons you can drag to your displayed toolbars. You also can move the buttons that are already on the toolbars. For example, you can pull the box (the button palette) aside, and drag the home icon to the left of the address box. If it becomes too much of a mess, you can reset your toolbars using Firefox's Safe Mode.

I realize that a lot of this is far from intuitive and natural, but it might be worth learning so you can help others in your circle of acquaintances when they have questions.

Thank you. I was able to move the tabs from above to below the toolbar pre your instructions. Re the other item, I went back to Customizing and I still can't see anything that fixes the problem. I'll ask it again. When I go to Bookmarks and pull down the menu, I have various folders, the first one being News. To the right of the word News there is an arrow pointing to the right. Inside News, there are various websites. The list of websites appears to the right of the arrow. In the new upgrade, the arrow appears to the right of the word news; however, all the list of websites appears to the left. If you can help me switch the list back to being to the right of the arrow that will be great. That's the way it was in the previous version of Firefox.

The reason the menu has to expand to the wrong side is that it is flush up against the edge. You can drag the icon to the other side of the browser so the menu expands as expected from left-to-right. If you usually display the Bookmarks Toolbar, you want it on the left end of that bar. Here are two screen shots showing the before and after of the move.

Does that work?

Note: if you don't normally use the Bookmarks Toolbar, then instead of dragging the icon there, try placing it just after the Back/Forward buttons.

You know, you are talking about a bookmark icon that is not the one I was referring to. The one I am looking at is at the top of the screen to the right of File, Edit, View, History then Bookmarks. I understand now what you were referring to when you said the Bookmarks icon is at the right of the toolbar. I've never seen that before. I clicked on the one you are referring to, but it doesn't let me drag is to the left side of the toolbar. I understand, if I could reposition it, then the websites in each folder would have to appear to the right of the drop down menu. So what am I doing wrong that doesn't let me reposition it on this toolbar?

Oh, you meant the Bookmarks menu. Well, it should expand to the right as long a there is enough space. I can't imagine why it expands to the left if it doesn't have to. Very strange.

Regarding dragging the icon, how far can you get it? If you can get it almost all the way over, drop it there. Then you can drag whatever is all the way on the left end just to the right of the bookmark icon.

You are right. The Bookmarks menu is in the same place it has been all the time and that's why I had no idea why the websites now expand to the left when they always expanded to the right in the previous Firefox version. As for the Toolbar which you have been referring to, the 6 other items on the toolbar can be moved around. However, the bookmarks icon at the far right seems to be stationary and cannot be moved anywhere which is what you have been trying to have me relocate. So now what do I do?

I'm stumped. Also, I'm a Windows user, so there sometimes are differences I don't understand.
