At some point in the past I downloaded the latest AVG virus software and now when I enter a search word at the main Firefox page it goes to this AVG search. All I want to do is get back to the Firefox default when I installed Firefox. By the way, when I go to the default tab it says that Firefox is my default browser but I don't think that is my problem.

If you are referring to the "Search Container" on the about:home homepage, try deleting the webappsstore.sqlite file in your Profile folder - with Firefox closed.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You can modify the pref keyword.URL on the about:config page to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" or Google's "Browse By Name".
