Firefox crashes
When I launch Firefox, the browser shows up for an instant, and then it crashes and I get the crash report dialog box. It also crashes in safe mode

That is a problem with Roboform.
You can try to update to Roboform 7.6.2

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports (bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page. You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website.

I had already updated RoboForm but that didn't solve it. In fact I was completely unable to see RF. I was finally able to get a hold of Firefox who instructed me to create a new FF profile which needs to be done thru the Start button. When I did that then, bam! it worked. And I have to say that indeed FF 8.0 surely is an improvement over the previous version. So while I had to sweat some bullets, I will say that it was worth it in the end.
