I downloaded an exe. file and can't find where it went. All other files I found in my download file.

I downloaded an exe. file and can't find where it went. All other files I found in my download file. This has never happened before. Normally all downloads go to my download file. I haven't changed the destination of downloads and don't even know how. I tried downloading another file and it went directly to my download file.

Try to download an other file which normally work, if the download is finished you right click and press open file location. And this is the map where FireFox stores all your downloads. That is where you .exe file should be.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox. Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
