Firefox 9.0.1 refuses to allow me to only open my old (not updated) home page when starting instead opens home page and welcome page, even when I change it in the options window (and keeps the old home page, too)!

I updated to Firefox 9.0.1. The install was smooth with no problems. When I opened Firefox after the update it opened with 2 tabs, my Home Page and a Welcome to Firefox screen. I went to Help-Options to change this so Firefox will only open my Home page, also changing the address to a new Home Page. Confirmed the change and closed the window. Next time, and every time I open Firefox I get the old Home Page, and the Welcome screen. It's as if I did nothing, and Firefox just ignored me!!. Tried again, nada. Should I just go to Chrome?
