I do not want Firefox to save passwords, but would like to use Sync. The exceptions button in Security does not work for this. If I turn password saving on, setup Sync, and then turn password saving off again, the password is gone and Sync doesn't work.

Hi Sensei,

Make sure you that you have selected to remember Passwords in Remember History.

Basically, the "Security" feature works as a collector: If you say that you want to remember Passwords they will be stored in the computer. You want to have this check marked whenever you set up Firefox Sync in order to store the password. You can deactivate it afterwards.

In the "Privacy" tab, the feature works as a "cleaner". So if you decide not to remember the history, it will clean it at the end of the session. Same thing with passwords. So you can store it but it will be removed. If you want to remove everything but the passwords you can use the custom settings in the drop down and customize it so Passwords are not deleted.

Let me know if this clarifies your situation.
