When I tried to open a PDF file from my bank, a pop-up window stated it wouldn't recognize a PDF format (never happened before). So I saved the file to Word. Big mistake as every document I open now can't be read. How do I reverse or cancel the saved document download format?

When I type in PDF and then "Action", nothing happens (ie., not provided any option). I don't recall if I originally checked "Do this automatically" etc. Could this download only apply to the bank site? Still, I should be able to fix this. UPDATE: Solved the problem. Thanks for your help!

Did you check the "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" in the download window? If so:

  • Open Firefox Options, Click the Application tab, type PDF in the filter(search)
