Task: upload attachments to CMS. These are PDF files anywhere from 100 kB to 3 MB.

Behaviour: file upload fails with HTTP error 413 - entity too large.

Steps taken to resolve:

  • our application administrator says the upload limit is 10 MB per file
  • cleared all cookies + cache + offline data
  • not an application error, the described behavior occurs on 2 of my machines with Firefox, one more running Firefox can upload OK; other browsers such as Chrome complete the upload with no problem.
