I updated to the latest version of firefox and now the address bar is transparent. Please don't tell me to use a theme or turn off transparency. That's not the problem.

Maybe Windows is the problem. Can you set Windows to use opaque background colours everywhere?

What is wrong with using a theme? There are all sorts of themes available, and some do their own thing with colours, so the address bar then would be opaque.

You could set an opacity of 1 for the address bar in userChrome.css. The name of the element is '#urlbar'. Add !important after the setting.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
