hello rv7431, don't worry - you're already using firefox 22 which is the latest version available.

the message you're seeing is probably just showing up, because you're using google.ca/firefox as your homepage, which was only maintained until firefox 3 and now shows the warning message you've referred to no matter what browser version you're using. change the homepage to about:home in order to address the issue & to get the current firefox homepage...

How to set the home page

edit: another thing that is not directly related to your original question - you have two addons present, which sound rather malicious (My Web Search 1.1, Performance Cache 1.0). i'd recommend removing them...

I am also having trouble with FireFox 22 not recognizing Garmin Communicator and I am sure it has nothing to do with my homepage as I use my own generated homepage. This just started happening when I installed version 22 and suspect it is a glitch in FireFox which I hope they repair soon. It still works on the computer running Vista but not on XP or Windows 7

Hi lonepinemax, is this a problem with the Send to GPS feature on geocaching.com? A Magellan user reported that. Please see: On geocaching.com, I can no longer access my Magellan GPS with Firefox v22. It says 'cannot find Magellan communicator'. Worked on previous Firefox. Works on IE. I've reported it to GroundSpeak but so far no progress.

Yes it does the same with Magellan & Garmin. Thing is it works with Chrome also, it is Firefox ver 22 that seems to be the problem.

Hi lonepinemax, it's good you have options! Firefox 22 doesn't run plugins where the page sets them to hidden="true". I don't know whether there is any chance of that changing, so hopefully the site will update soon.

Edit: Just learned this will change in Firefox 23. Details below.

Hi lonepinemax, the developers have reversed course and will switch back to <embed hidden="true"> being okay in Firefox 23. This news is from: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/964324#answer-458443. Although a beta version of Firefox 23 is available, this update was just submitted earlier this week, so the current download doesn't yet have the fix.

Thanks for the information. Firefox better make this adjustment soon or geocachers like myself will be switching over to Chrome or God forbid, going back to Vista.

Hi lonepinemax, Firefox 23 is scheduled for release on August 6th. If you want to try an immediate workaround, see this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../965376#answer-458567.
