When bookmarking a new site my bookmarks will not show my existing folders in dropdown box.

I want to add a new bookmark to a specific folder. When using any other browser it allows the dropdown box to show all active folders and bookmarks under the heading "choose" this does not happen with Firefox

This extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/edit-bookmark-plus/ - allows for a larger Bookmarks window which shows more folders.
