New computer using Win 7, downloaded Mozilla, many times when moving the mouse on a new page and clicking login or some where on the page, a new tab will open, most of the new tabs will be soft ware sites saying I need to down load a program, such as Java HD, examples: Akamidhd.net, Findsectiokn.net, ect. How do I stop that?

Thanks

Hi Victor, the Adsplus helped some, now at least I get a blank tab/page that opens. So the problem is still some what there. A new tab opens when pointing mouse. Any other suggestions. Thanks

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Thanks Cor-el. The Adware program did the trick.

Don't just stop with one scan. Use several of the programs listed. Each works differently and what one may miss the other can pick it up.

Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated,

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS.

While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be Malware or a Virus. Any time you want or need to check for upgrades, go to the web site of the True Owner of the program in question. For example, to check out Firefox, go to Mozilla.org.
