I have looked for the navigation bar by right clicking on the open area and trying to find the buttons and have had no luck. I checked "view" thinking that it might be in there. When i right click the only options that I have are Menu Bar, and Bookmarks bar. I want to have Reload, stop, and my forward button back. If you could please help me I would greatly appreciate it. Firefox has always been my favorite browser and I'm upset that I am unable to find my navigation bar. Thank you!

The Navigation Toolbar is the toolbar that shows in the screenshot below the Tab bar the the location (address) bar on it.

Firefox uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar.

  • You get a Stop button during page loading that changes to a Reload button when the page has finished loading
  • You get a Go button if you modify the location bar content
  • Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab

There is now one large urlbar container that contains the location bar and the Back and Forward buttons and the combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is located at the right end of the location bar.
This urlbar container is locked to its position on the Navigation Toolbar and can't be moved.
This change also has the consequence that you can no longer hide the Navigation Toolbar, so you do not see this bar in the right-click context menu of the toolbar area.

Ok, I already read through that post prior to you sending me the link to it. That doesn't solve my issue. I don't even have "Navigation Bar" as an option when i right click in an open space. And when i click on Customize, I do not see "Navigation Bar" anywhere in there to drag and drop out to my browser? Also, this is a fresh Firefox install. I just upgraded my computer and re-Downloaded Firefox. I also already tried resetting to defaults, and I still don't see it.

There is no "option" for the Navigation Bar because it can't be hidden.
Could you be incorrectly calling the Menu Bar the Navigation Bar?

Please provide a screenshot of what you are talking about.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

In this photo, I took a screenshot of my browser window while I am right clicking, so that you can see that there is indeed, no "Navigation Toolbar" option for me to click. There isn't even anything Greyed out. And no sir, I have the menu bar turned on. It's the one at the top that says; File, Edit, View, History, etc.

That's what I needed to know. I figured they removed it since I was unable to find it. Thank you for all of your help. I will have to see if I can find a browser addon to make it the way I liked it before.

I just want it to stay fixed and visible not flashing on and off when the curor hovers over. How do I do that? Can't stand this new install, wish I'd never fallen for downloading it, wish I could undo and go back to version 24 which worked absolutely fine. Progress? I think not. When something works, don't fiddle with it is my advice. I suppose I shall have to reinstall Firefox 24 from scratch and lose all my bookmarks. Cheers for that. Might have had a warning.
