Hello, my browser on my personal laptop is now under management by my university. I suspect this is because I used this account on their computers and they've gone backwards for whatever reason. I did a little digging but I don't think this is the same problem as the other articles. I'm just hoping there's a way I can disconnect my personal account from my school's systems and such, many thanks

Deploying Firefox in a large enterprise environment involves several best practices. Start by utilizing Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) for stable and reliable updates. Use Mozilla's Enterprise Policy Engine to manage settings and enforce policies centrally. Automate deployment through tools like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager or other software distribution systems to streamline the process across multiple devices. Configure security settings to enhance protection, such as disabling unnecessary features and enabling secure connections. Implement regular update schedules to ensure all systems remain current and protected against vulnerabilities. Finally, provide training and support to users to familiarize them with Firefox’s features and best practices, ensuring a smooth transition and effective usage. Here for more information

Hi,

I know this must be weird

and I am aware of `about:config` -> `layout.word_select.stop_at_punctuation`

here is what bugs me:

with above setting to OFF , when I double click on IP address, like `123.123.123.123` , it selects all , exactly what I want

on the other hand, sometimes I need click on domains , for example I am visiting `https://firefox.org/` , and in address bar , if I double click the domain , it selects `https://firefox.org/` but I want it only to select the `firefox` or `org` depends on where I clicked , as the punctuation OFF only applied to IP, but keep ON with all other text

is this possible ?

Best regards,

If you go to "view", "toolbars", "customize toolbox", you'll see a box titled "search". Problem is, it's worthless. It used to be, you could either search in there using your pre-selected search engine or click on one of the others that are displayed and search using that one. Now, it just sits there taking space. What is the purpose of this? Another thread here titled, "[[Pressing Enter in empty search bar doesn't work anymore|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1452133?page=2#answer-1669039]]", discusses how the search page no longer works either.

If using just the search bar is "a power that be's" version of efficiency, it's not.

Thunderbird was deleted from my computer same time it was deleted on phone. On reinsttallation I find that sent mail does not get savedd AND they want my password for everymove, then they tell me it is invalid. When I had TB before, it was not necessaery to sign in or enter a password. If you can't eliminate this needing to enter it at every move, I

and fix the sent items being saved I will go to Outlook. Thank you in advance for your help

It used to be that Firefox would remember where I saved similar files (from the same webpage I assume) in the past and save them to the same directory. That doesn't work anymore and I cannot find any setting for that. Now it always suggests the most recent place I saved to.

If you change "privacy.userContext.enabled" from "true to false" and check after restarting Firefox, it will revert to "false to true." It is unclear why it reverts to the original state.

I need to become more competent with Thunderbird functionality. I see manua.ls has a manual I can download. Do you have experience with that? I find searching the knowledge base at Thunderbird difficult to use - my incompetence, I'm sure! Is there a tutorial that would teach me the basics? I've been using Thunderbird for about 20 years and it's vital to my business. I've had techs screw it up a couple of times. I think I need to be my own repairman. Any direction you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!
