Some websites, such as streaming services or online banking platforms, may not function properly when accessed through a VPN. With the Mozilla VPN Firefox extension, you can customize your browsing experience by disabling VPN protection for these websites, allowing you a more seamless experience when using Mozilla VPN.
In order to disable VPN protection for a specific website, please follow these steps:
- Navigate to the website where you want the VPN protection to be disabled.
- On the top right corner of your Mozilla Firefox browser, locate and open the Mozilla VPN extension icon.
In the Preferences for this website section, you’ll find a checkbox labeled Always turn off VPN protection. To apply this setting, click the corresponding checkbox.
From now on, the website you have selected will not be under VPN protection. You can confirm the VPN protection is disabled by checking the right-hand side of the URL bar, where the VPN icon is crossed out.
Reenable website protection
You can undo the website exclusion through any of the following methods. In all cases, the website needs to be loaded in your current Firefox tab.
Method 1: Through the Mozilla VPN icon on the URL bar
- On the right-hand side of the URL bar, look for the crossed-out Mozilla VPN icon.
- Click the icon and select Turn on.
Method 2: Through the extension
- Go to the top right corner of your Firefox browser and click the Mozilla VPN icon.
- Uncheck the Always turn off VPN protection for option.
