How to set up Firefox Sync in Firefox for Android Beta

Sign in to Firefox Accounts on Firefox Preview to sync your bookmarks and/or history across devices.

Option 1: Pair your Firefox Preview with Firefox desktop

To sync your bookmarks and/or history with Firefox Sync using an existing Firefox Account and QR code:

  1. Tap the menu button android menu icon
    Menu button - Template:menupreview
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sign in.
  4. Tap Scan pairing code in desktop Firefox.
  5. Access firefox.com/pair on your desktop.
  6. Tap Open Camera at the bottom of the Turn on Sync screen within the Firefox Preview app.
  7. Point your device's camera toward the QR code on your desktop.

Option 2: Log in with credentials

To sync your bookmarks and/or history with Firefox Sync by simply signing into your existing Firefox Account:

  1. Tap the menu button android menu icon
    Menu button - Template:menupreview
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sign in.
  4. Enter your Firefox Account credentials.

If you do not have an existing Firefox Account, tap Create an account to create one. For additional information, see Access Mozilla Services with a Firefox Account.

Choose what to sync

  1. Tap the menu button android menu icon
    Menu button - Template:menupreview
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap your email address.
  4. Put a check mark next to the types of information you want to sync:
    • Bookmarks
    • History
Firefox Sync is not an online backup tool but is designed to enable you to sync browsing data between two or more Firefox installations.
