Update to the latest version of Firefox for Android Beta

This article applies only to an experimental version of Firefox for Android (Beta/Nightly formerly called Firefox Preview) that's no longer supported. Please download the supported version of Firefox for Android at the Google Play store
In order to use all the latest features and keep your information safe and secure, it's a good idea to update Firefox Preview to the latest version. Firefox Preview lets you know when an update is available via Google Play, but you can also manually check for an update using the steps below. You can also use the steps below to find out what version you're using as well as ways to update it if necessary.

Check your version of Firefox Preview

  1. Tap the menu button android menu icon
    Menu button - Template:menupreview
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll down and tap About Firefox Preview.
    The version number will appear underneath the Firefox Preview logo.

Update Firefox Preview via Google Play

The easiest way to update Firefox Preview is via Google Play since it'll usually indicate whether or not Firefox Preview is out of date and prompt you to update it.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your device and tap the menu in the upper left.
  2. Tap My apps & games to see your list of installed apps.
    This list indicates which apps need to be updated. Firefox Preview will appear in the Updates list if an update is available.
  3. Tap the corresponding Update button to initiate the update.
