Okay, so when I right click on any file and select: Send To - Mail Recipient, Thunderbird starts but never does a new email appear with the selected file attached. I have to open a new email from within TB, then go back to the folder, adjust my windows (Since Micro$haft decided to kill off dragging files to the taskbar!), then manually drag the file to the new blank email I manually opened where I then can drop the file. Convenient! Not.

I tried the solution listed here that apparently worked for this guy but not so for me:

https://www.tenforums.com/browsers-email/154955-windows-ignoring-thunderbird-default-email-app.html

"But you should set both (Default) values to the same value. For example, if you want Mozilla Thunderbird as your default MAPI email client, you have to modify both like so: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\mail > (Default) value = Mozilla Thunderbird HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail > (Default) Value = Mozilla Thunderbird

Editing the registry on my wife's profile fixed it."

Can't find anything on this issue anywhere online. Am I the only one having this 'fun' with Winblows 11?

re :when I right click on any file and select: Send To - Mail Recipient,

Possible solutions to try - I would try this first as it may fix the MAPI issue. If the programs you are using are 32 bits and Thunderbird is 64bit then you would need to uninstall Thunderbird 64bit and download and install same language and version but 32bit.

If the program/ management software you are using has an in built option to look for 'outlook.exe'. This can occur with some printers as well. The following link has details on how to make computer believe it is using Outlook when in fact it is using Thunderbird.
