Want to keep version 27.
System did an auto update to V28, which really messed things up. I already sent feedback on this and set system not to automatically install. Every day I keep getting alerts to update. I don't want to upgrade. Is there a way to get critical updates and not be hassled with V28 upgrades? Win7

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.
- Classic Theme Restorer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
- You can check the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
- You can find extra toolbar buttons in the Customize palette (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)

Hi,
STOP Firefox Auto-update checking https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-stop-firefox-automatically-making-connections#w_auto-update-checking
Maybe I didn't explain myself well. I want to keep v27. I do not want v28, let alone v29? All I want is updates for v 27. Questions: How to get only v27 updates? What is v29?
Hi,
You can keep 27 but you won't get any updates other than the ones that point you to 28 and 29. 29.0.1 is the newest version with an entirely new look.
Here's what the default Firefox 29.0.1 looks like (minus my bookmarks)
I suggest you disable updates so you won't get prompted to install Firefox 28. The above link will work along with these instructions.
You can set these prefs in about:config
to disable automatic updating:
app.update.auto - false
app.update.enabled - false
app.update.silent - false

Bermea or Moses - thanks especially for the sample screen. I've just installed v29 and have a few issues: 1. In customize I can't move the Address Bar to a different line as in v27. 2. In customize there is no option for "Stop" and no Activity circle that runs when loading a site. 3. In plugins no longer is there an option for "ASK to activate." 4. How can i change the background color of the menu bar? Your help is appreciated.

Though I have yet to try your suggestions I appreciate the multiple choices.
