How do I get adobe flash for firefox all it lets me download is IE version

When I download adobe flash upgrades it opens IE on top of firefox and downloads the version for IE I can't get the version meant for firefox to download why don't you put an upgrade for firefox version of adobe flash in the firefox area in add-ons? Or tell me how to get the version the firefox version of acobe flash
