HELP! Browser STUCK . I have vital info to save!
I was looking up a word in an online thesaurus, when a window popped up saying "warning, unresponsive script". There are 4 options, none of which create any response. The window just stays there. Clicking "stop script" does nothing. I have another tab open in that browser window with writing that took me HOURS to compose. If I force quit it will lose it. Help help help!! Thank you in advance for any help with this!!

Hi...so the solution for me was to go to the Tools on the menu bar, and click on Personas, and change the persona. Somehow that re-activated and I was able to get back to the tab I needed, take screen-shots, and then force quit. Phew! Thanks for your help folks!

Are you able to get to the tab with the information up?
Is the information a web link or something you typed in. If a web link, your history folder should have that page recorded.
What is the unresponsive script?
Hi Fred,
Thank you for responding! No I cannot open any tabs. The information is something I typed in, that took me hours to write, it would be very hard to recreate, as it was creative writing.
The script is as follows: chrome://global/content/bindings/tabbox.xml:709
There are options on the window to Debug script Stop script Continue
None of those options do anything when I click on them.
I have other browser windows open but can't open any of those tabs either, but at least when I click on them I can see the menu bar. But none of the drop down menus are functioning, for instance new window, new tab, do nothing.
I'm going to call for backup. I take it you left the browser open. Are there any other programs running? Shut down what you can.
Do you have the Firebug extension or another debugger installed?
If you have then you should consider to leave this extension disabled unless you really need it for debugging purposes.
If Firefox hangs in such a way that you can't close the dialog or switch to other tabs to copy its content to the clipboard or maybe save the content as a screenshot then I'm afraid that that data is likely lost.
Thanks Fred yes I did leave the browser open and have shut down all other programs.
Cor-el I don't believe I have installed any debuggers.
I am still hoping there is a way to get that pop up closed so I can get back to that tab and get back to my work...but losing hope fast. Thank you for your response.

That's great to hear! Check your system and see if there is a problem.
I don't know what it was you were working on. But next time, you might want to use a word or text program. Every now and then, save your work. Some word programs have options to do this automatically.
