for instance there is a link i found in that webm audio wont work. "https://volafile.io/get/FI2GPql8VEVyiQ/Pigeon.webm" this issue seems on and off i have yet to find more videos but this has been going on with other online webm and possibly mp4... i don't recall right now. just webm comes first. most videos that contain audio will play in the embedded player with no problems. however some others will not play audio at all. it doesn't stop there. you know that new facebook voice message that came out? it doesn't work either. it wont play at all. it will however play on opera 12.17 but not firefox 36 or waterfox 36.0 or even chrome. it seems firefox and chrome are the only browsers who share this issue. firefox will also not play this "http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/orange" i mean the pronunciation of the word orange. i also tried some other online dictionaries with the pronunciation audio thing and they too will not play. for both this firefox and chrome. i do realize this is not chrome support but i am just trying to give as much detailed information so i can fix this. it has been quite annoying. the only other way to play the audio in the webm is to download it. i think this is a html5 issue? since facebook and those dictionaries use html5 for that audio? i don't know... it's just a guess. i've tried rebooting, checking the audio properties but it can't be the audio properties? or else the sound wouldn't play in opera. the sounds for that webm i linked and the dictionaries and facebook play fine for the same firefox version on my other computer. this windows is 7 and the other is vista. this started a few months back. around janurary. i uninstalled some programs to try that as a fix. this did not help and nor did these programs have to do with audio or browsers.

i don't know what else to try. there has to be something that is making firefox and chrome not play these types of sounds. some sort of common factor that they both rely on but not opera. can someone please help me? thank you for anyone's time with this matter :)

i just tried disabling adblock and checking if i had any no script or noscript sort of addon. i do not have a script killer. disabling adblock did not solve the issue.
