I made an error and installed My Maps on my computer. I have uninstalled the program but when I open a new tab in Firefox I get the My Maps page and search engine. It is slowing down my opening of new sites. How do I get rid of this and return to simple being able to input a new site when I open a new tab?

Hi, if you are sure you have removed My Maps completely, try this for the New Tab page: Type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtab.url and make sure 'Value' is set to about:newtab (right click > Modify, to change it if necessary, taking care not to alter anything else). You may then need to restart Firefox.

If you need to reset the search engine, please see - Use the Search bar in Firefox and manage search engines.
