how do we get rid of mystart search browser in firefox? why is it always present when starting firefox?

i tried changing the advance settings and the target home page to www.google.com.au but everytime i switch off the computer and turn back in to firefox ...the mystart search engine comes back up again together with the google search engine.

how can we get rid of this without having to subscribe to any anti-virus or malware software?
