Because the above window allows only so,many characters, I re-submit my entire question: I wanted to send mail to ten recipients. When I tired to send it I got this error: This email contains either non-BCC'ed mailing list recipients or more than the configured maximum number of TO or CC recipients. How do you want to continue? Press OK to send anyway or Cancel to reconsider. I send anyway and get this error message: An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Administrative prohibition. Please check the message recipient ""... Apparently Thunderbird wants me to uh...how should I know? Too bad it does not give may more detailed information. "An error" could mean most anything. Thanks in advance for any help you may have.

Do you have the Use Bcc Instead add-on installed? I think that may be responsible for the "configured maximum" message. If not, it may be a restriction due to the server configuration.
"The mail server responded: Administrative prohibition. Please check the message recipient" appears to be the error message from the server.
Neither of these are "native" Thunderbird error messages. I think your argument may be with the server operator.
AronFox: I have this problem with my email provider (GMX) -- they allow a maximum of ten recipients for a message if sent from Thunderbird. Zenos is correct, the 'administrative prohibition' is imposed by your email service provider, I suggest you check their policy.
