I tried to do a system restore twice in order to go back to the way my mozilla operated beforeand each time mozilla execute would not work

A system restore Restores the system to what it was when the restore point was created. Meaning, what was removed is returned, and what was added was removed.

Hi Fred, thank you for your reply and your contribution to trying to solve problems like mine. Firstly, as far as using an old version of firefox, i run three computers, with two laptops running windows xp sp3 and a desktop running windows 7 home version. I also work in an industrial complex where i use ( and have used) windows operating systems from windows ce, versions of dos, lotus, dbase 3 etc. up to windows 7 based systems, over a period of 25 years. I have noticed a difference between constantly updating programs and not updating at all. There is also that murky area where you just sometimes update when you get around to it. Their does not seem to be any happy middle ground and as such i am using older versions of firefox at home and the latest of firefox and google chrome at work. I am still undecided as to which method is better as i am making my own preferences and choices quite happily at home using older firefox, yet have a busy army of it professionals contantly solving issues at work. I havent run an antivirus for years at home and i dont have any problems except the obvious risks of opening dodgy emails. I guess from your reply to my problem is that I have to give in to the momentum; that is the constant change, if I want to continue to have the freedom to make my own choices with the way i view content. Or I can wallow in the backwaters, naive, free and un harmed, but restricted by the changes in software that relentlessly keep coming our way. I will try downloading mozilla for all languages and systems, removing the old, rebooting and installing, on one laptop running xp, as a trial. thank you for suggesting this option. I will report back on my success, failure or otherwise. Also you have noted that i cannot execute mozilla when doing a system restore. This seems to be a permanent change somehow. My philosophical rant regarding personal preferences as opposed to someone elses version of "trying to be helpful; will not go away quietly. This also references to the basic concept of customer service, respect for privacy, and an expectation of quality of product. None of these concepts seem to be respected when it comes to design, quality, expectations, functionality and usage in the world of computer related products and technology in general. Like windows was in the late 1980's (compared to using dos), some tech companies (like samsung android, apple etc) will provide the washing machine that washes cloths! Doesnt need upgrading every 10 minutes, doesnt get viruses and doesnt let people steal your money on the false pretence of a paperless office making life easier. I have noticed howeverby staying just behind the curve as far as updating flash is concerned that i dont seem to encounter as many ads :)mmmm (toungue in cheek) Thank you this far, i hope to stike a chord somewhere in the ether if not in my own shere.

As far as updating goes, some updates correct problems, add new features, correct security issues . . . . .

Hackers keep programs very busy by breaking into good programs and causing problems for everyone.

Thank you Fred, i managed to work around the issue of forced re direction from bloomberg to bloomberg/asia. I simply edited the bookmark from within mozilla and that has fixed that little issue. As far as not being able to execute mozilla after doing a restoration roll back, i guess i will have to take the rest of your advice and install the latest version of mozilla. Hopefully i wont need to do a restore anytime soon and I can continue to use my computer as it is- the way I choose. Thanks for your support/enlightenment/education on this matter, kind regards.
