I was using an older version of Firefox 40.somthing and everything was fine. I could leave my computer and walk away for however long I wanted. After having some problems with different websites I went ahead and updated to the newest version. Now if the computer sleeps, Firefox goes completely stupid. It becomes unresponsive. One time I click on open new tab and it was 5 minutes before it even tried to open the new tab. I can't even close Firefox because neither the menu will open nor can I click any buttons. The only way to close it is to end the task in Task Manager.

I tried the safemode, Then I tried refreshing..... what a fiasco that was. I had to reload and set-up everything from scratch only to find the problem is still there.

If it wont be fixed then is there a way to roll back the update and I just wont use those websites?

Safemode is used for troubleshooting. It does not make permanent changes. Firefox's Refresh, which may be accessed from the safe mode option can be rather annoying. It does remove all Firefox addons. But it should leave bookmarks, plugins and logins etc.

You should always use the latest version of Firefox, that will be safe secure and supported.

I am not aware of changes that would make Firefox have problems when Windows goes to sleep. I have Windows 10 and Firefox works fine when it wakes up.

if you do have problems with Firefx try giving it at least 10 minutes to wake up properly, and try to shut it down from it's menu again giving it at least 10 minutes before powering off. After you have allowed Firefox to start and stop a couple of times like that will it sleep and wake ok.

Is there only a problem when you use particular websites ? If they are public websites and do not need a login let me know what they are and I will see if thy give me a problem or not.

Whatever is happening I am not sure it is directly related to the Firefox version..

Okay, I noticed in task manager that the FireFox I was using the 32bit version and I thought I had downloaded the 64bit version. So I went to add/remove programs and sure enough, both versions were installed. So I uninstalled the 32-bit version. I immediately noticed an improvement in speed and was happy for about a day. Now it's to the point that FireFox is basically useless and I've been forced to use Edge for Frack sake..... but it doesn't seem to hang on wake-up now.

On Windows the 32 bit version of Firefox is the one that most people use. The 64 bit version of Firefox has been used on Linux & Mac s for years, but the 64bit version for Windows is much more recent and not offered as the default.

What are the current problems with Firefox that make it useless ?

My most immediate need is to fix is this Adobe Connect access problem . I'm a student at De-Vry online and Adobe Connect is something that I just cannot be without at the moment.

My immediate workaround is to just use Edge. And I can't believe I'm saying this... but I might download and try Chrome again. But, I figured out how to import all my FireFox bookmarks over to Edge and it has no problems with Connect so FireFox is pretty useless to me at the moment.

One of the sites I visit often is here RC Groups Classifieds Forum

In the individual listings, sellers often post pictures of items. You can click on them to expand to full size. the first time you click opens up a thumbnail viewer. If you click directly on the image, its full size image is displayed in a new tab. Now however all I get is tab with a blank screen.

I have allowed images to load, I've disabled pop-up blocking and I have looked and looked and looked again through the available options and do not see anything else I can set to get it to work. I would modify the about:config but have no idea what setting it would be to restore this functionality.

So, yet another bit of functionality lost since the upgrade.
