This started happening after I installed WinXP Service Pack 3 and updated to latest version of Firefox. Does anyone monitor this forum and advise what can be done? Should I uninstall Firefox and install an older version? I've scanned with AVG, Avira, and Malwarebytes; found nothing.

Thanks! I've disabled or removed (not sure which) Trusteer but can't find a disable command for Avast. Do I need to uninstall it?
Yes, getting rid of Avast is advised.
To replace it, I recommend AVG Free Edition for people who are still using WinXP. I have it on an old PC in the TV room for my 90 yo mother to use.
