A temp file is being created in a C:\TEMP (my system temporary folder) \mozilla-temp-files\mozilla-temp-5911 (no extension) Rather than using the specified "D:\Mozilla\FireFox\Cache2\ Folder that I specified in the "about:config" It seems to be the audio - it's a radio show so no video to speak of from a YouTube page and it varies in size - now at 330 mb. This really sucks. Thanks Don

Hi Don, Firefox uses the Windows temp folder for downloads. I think files retrieved by plugins also would go into that folder.

The cache stores fragments of pages (such as the html, css, images), not downloads.

In the past, some users have created a new environment variable, using a batch file, to point Firefox to a different temp folder location. I haven't tried that myself. Here's an example thread from another site:

Thank you jscher2000 , that was exactly my issue and now I am feeling terribly guilty for not finding it myself. Your knowledge , memory , and willingness to reach back and retrieve a link to solve my issue speaks highly of your willingness to help your fellow mankind. That puts you a notch above in my book. May god bless you for your efforts.

Also thanks to you too David , I only received an e-mail notice on the second answer. I also did not check the "not helpful box" - another FF mystery !

Thanks again

Don
