When I went to use Firefox today, typing in the search box on the home page generated random characters. If I typed in an "m" for instance I might get a number or some other letter. Typing the same character 2 or 3 times in a row generates a different character each time. It was working fine yesterday. Did I accidentally hit some type of shortcut or command. It's impossible to do any type of search because trying to type in a word just looks like jiberish was typed in.

What's your computer system and Firefox version?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?
