I have the same issue with the 32 bit version. Sometimes I can see more than one tab (when I have them open) and sometimes not. The underscore, minn/max and close symbols are missing. If I have tabs open into the area where these symbols should be, clicking on the X for the tab sometimes closes the tab and sometimes closes Firefox. I have to watch to make sure that the tab X is lit before I click.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
