It seems the email used at A.M.O. doesn't match my Sync account. How can I login and change it?

When trying to login at https://addons.mozilla.org/ I am asked to confirm my Firefox sync credentials. When I do, a new account is proposed at AMO. I was already registered (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/user/MagicFab/) - how can I link both Sync and the existing AMO account?

Hi, the separate old AMO account has been closed and replaced with a Firefox account, which you can use to log in to AMO and Sync - Access Mozilla Services with a Firefox Account

Thank you, that's the exact problem. My AMO email was not the same as my Sync account is: If you have an old account on AMO and have not gone through the migration flow, you can still access your account if the email you use to log in through Firefox Accounts is the same as the one previously registered on AMO. When I try recovering the Firefox Sync account for the older email I sued on AMO I am told it doesn't exist. What can I do now?
