The java deployment toolkit 8.0.1210.13 is still disabled. When will it be enabled? I use it on my Kodak Pulse picture frame.

You would normally not need the java deployment toolkit as a normal user. This toolkit is only required for developers.

You would only need the Java plugin that shows in the plugins list on websites that require Java.

  • Next Generation Java Plug-in 11.121.2 for Mozilla browsers

Just to be sure: Java and JavaScript are different languages. To avoid confusion, see:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
