Can't I get the confirmation e-mail to retrieve all my bookmarks in a different e-mail?

What about other devices that were connected to that Sync account? Your data would be on other devices, if you were using Sync on them, too.

Sync was never intended to be used as a "backup medium" for the purpose or reinstalling the operating system. True that some users manage to pull that off, bot those success stories don't get posted here. What we hear about is users losing their data due to using Sync improperly - that is, with one device only and when they format their PC without backing up their Firefox Profile and expect Sync to work as their only "backup".

Sorry no, the email address of record is the primary identifier for your Firefox Account.

There is no way to associate a different email address with your Firefox Account, you would need to create a new Firefox Account before you lose your data or lose access to the email account of record.
