Just installed Firefox 55.0 and now the Lastpass add-on is not showing matching site info. Lastpass will show if there is a matching site to a web site I need to log into but once the Lastpass drop down is shown and then I click on show matching sites the next page is blank instead of showing the actual matching web site. This function worked fine prior to updating to Firefox 55.0.

Just installed LastPass add-on 4.1.62a and the issue has been resolved. You say this is a beta version?

Yes, the "Development" versions are pre-release versions the author is still testing before making a final submission. Or in some cases the submission just takes a long time to come through and show up on the main page.

Check with LastPass for an updated version of their extension for Firefox.

I have the latest LastPass add-on for Firefox. I also opened a support ticket with LastPass. It worked fine prior to me updating Firefox to 55.0.

I'm not amused about 55.0. Why do you supply a new version which wipes all my extensions without warning. Cost me a lot of time to investigate which resulted in the fact that I have the latest versions already. Now I have to contact all the suppliers to get a solution.

I have updated Firefox to 55.0.1 and the Lastpass problem still exists.

Win 7 (both 32- and 64-bit) Pro SP 1

Before continuing, note well: LastPass continues to work properly in, e.g.: Brave, Chrome, IE, Opera, etc. The problem is with Firefox, not with LastPass. If LastPass works properly with other browsers commonly in use, and fails to work with Firefox, identifying the source of the problem is obvious. (hint: It's not LastPass.)

Onward.

I had been successfully using LastPass (v 4.1.62, installed from Firefox's "add-ons" panel) with Firefox (v 54.0.1). I updated Firefox to v 55.0.2. LastPass failed to work properly, so I attempted to revert to Firefox v 54.0.1 in which LastPass now no longer works properly. ("No longer works properly": log-in status and other preferences aren't stored.)

Emphasizing: the problem isn't with LastPass, which functions properly in other popular browsers; the problem is with Firefox.

Understand well: it's the add-ons and extensions that lend Firefox its functionality. If I lose that functionality (and apparently, that's the direction in which Firefox is headed), I'll use another browser, as I am. Right now.

Since redbike9 cross-posted in this earlier thread, I'll mention some research I did in responding to their question:

I see some active threads on the LastPass forums (about 11 pages of posts), but there is not a clear solution yet:

Most users who uninstalled the last stable release of the LastPass extension and installed the beta release reported that it helped them. See: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/versions/beta

One tester reported the beta still has some issues on their Firefox:

  • If you select "Show matching sites in top level menu", then go to one of those menu choices on a given site and select "options', it takes you to a little dropdown toolbar menu that says "back" but nothing else, and from that point the Lastpass toolbar menu is no longer accessible. The browser must be restarted to return Lastpass back to a fully functioning state.
  • If you deselect "Show matching sites in top level menu", then go to one of those choices on a given site and select "options', the first time you try it, nothing happens and the Lastpass toolbar menu is exited. You must repeat the process to get to the options menu.
  • I tried to export a Lastpass .csv file. That does not work.

Also, if you find you need to re-login to LastPass every time you start Firefox, there is a separate thread on that: https://forums.lastpass.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=267985

Now on FF 55.0.2 and the LastPass issue that I originally reported still exists. Please advise if FF will be fixing this since the issue did not exist prior to 55.0. If not I will find another browser where the LastPass extension works fine.

Hi sparky57, did you install the beta version of the add-on? I linked to it here:

LastPass add-on 4.1.62a works fine but when I close FireFox and then reopen it the next day the add on is gone. I then have to download and install it. I don't know yet it if this issue happens every time I close FF but have noticed it gone the next day.
