The browser intermittently is slow to load and I have to pass the cursor over blank areas to get the content there to be visible. The same thing happens on some but not all web pages. It happens most frequently on Facebook.

HI, there appears to be an issue that only affects users who have turned off cleartype font rendering within their Windows Settings. So a workaround for the moment would either be to turn cleartype back on or disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings

Please check and let us know if that solved the issue.

Two footnotes:

(1) This is scheduled to be fixed in a 59.0.2 update, but I don't know when that will be released.

(2) You need to exit Firefox and start it up again before the hardware acceleration change takes effect.

Thank you. While I have not knowingly turned off cleartype font rendering, I don't even know what that is, unchecking the boxes has fixed the problem.
