I have recently had to create a new account for my work emails in Thunderbird but now have 2 inboxes to check for incoming mail. This is time consuming and a pain. Is there any way that I can merge my 2 inboxes into one for both accounts emails?

People are funny. All of my inboxes are separate and will stay that way. I can't imagine wanting to jumble them all together. However…

If you're using POP on all your accounts, you can get them to share the Global Inbox (and some other folders) under Local Folders.

If you're using IMAP, then you can try:

  • View|Folders|Unified, or
  • Use filters to move messages on receipt to a folder of your choosing, or
  • Less drastic - just get into the habit of using View|Folders|Unread to check for unread messages, wherever they may be.

Be aware that if you allow messages to be mixed up together it can be tricky to make sure that each message you send has the appropriate "From:" address.
