When I click on items with a site/page opened within FireFox, I often get a new tab opening that is a spam tab. This isn't happening within my other browser (Safari), so it seems to be a bug within my FireFox. I tried trashing Firefox and reinstalling, but it still happens. This an example of what I get: https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?hspart=iba&hsimp=yhs-1&type=mnff_6017_FFW_US&p=YTIxMjE5NzUwNTVg1kvqCfeOKLB4AR33riaCrqNV3HoNN8IrME9ejIgE5cWrPljBMWcDLtIfKlHqXZKTmoi6GwJZq8mk8%2FWDbZc1tBQaOLw3Z5Y48V9C5d9lawYIYxKAqcqBiDunpejiM602XO7bNUP1yRpL3qe8s%2BkRgyebbgvSN%2F28aX5k19ZABSBu74syw7eZc44sndbnsM1bq1oZmFEyO%2FdVSY2A%2Bia0DQnaGV%2BJBsnzGeHQ4k7wrN96D5lqUpZJ99UkJ3XjRLDZLGblr2q6QJnod696kOWTvsZ8VaMyKzt4w99ZFjXx%2BStcn1Pr6pmw5IzM%2BiX1RLSRxGNDbuIj87%2F1QHJJt1cSTfv9%2BnbYz%2BolMFXC4IzARaA84h5rr1rlQS40XA%2FlKnhnxk8tZXpgchkPFXiAB%2BLCtfUvyRFuWmKH6Fl6hB8lpVZFXWjEkTc50XQchIXp%2BwsQ54UErLeEP%2BW6PlpmR72LWcCrmLArFSza5E7Y81R2x%2FbqEFX0Zx3UzwF6xkTgvnA8Xj0Zd5BDYw%3D%3D

How do I get rid of this? I am at the point of not using FireFox any longer. Tried to attached an image of one of the tabs opening up, but it won't let me.

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your system.

  1. please go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc).
  2. also run a full scan of your system with a security tool like the malwarebytes for mac.
