It all began from a forum site where I had loaded an image hosted at my wordpress site. I was on the "view image info" pane blocking all Icould and when I went back to my site all images were gone as if they never were there, only visible in the edit mode. It's as it that one image was a Trojan horse infecting all my site now as you see illustrated in the shots of screenshots below.

I assume that this was a problem with the permissions and that you had accidentally blocked images. Note that the Media tab in Page Info also has a checkbox that shows if images are blocked.

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.

  • you can tap the Alt key or press the F10 key to show the hidden Menu Bar temporarily

check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions".

Check "Tools -> Page Info -> Media" for blocked images

  • select the first image and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list
  • if an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain

https://allaxemen.wordpress.com/ Let me go one better than that and explain how I got my images back. Following the helpful hints at the Mozilla zelf-help section I went to the security icons to the right of the website address in that bar, click there went deeper down to "more information" got to the window popping up with the titles, General, Media, Feeds, Permissions and finally Security. In amongst these topic I opened up and allowed various optional options allowing them to proceed. That's it and hopefully this can be helpful in times to come.
