I have FFx v66.0.2 and Mac OSX 14.3

I have reset everything, run in safe mode and unsafe mode, turned hardware acceleration off and on, turned recommended performance settings on and off, enabled & disabled all plug-ins, stood on my head while patting my belly,....

I can play videos on other sites like newyorker.com and cnn.com

Running out of options and contemplating running to Chrome [sigh], which does play youtube videos.

How was your firefox updated? Did you update from FF57+ or earlier? If earlier I suspect a corrupted upgrade and fixes are.

1. backup bookmark 2. download latest FF based on O/S bit version 32 or 64 4. uninstall all FF and deleting Mozilla folder 5. Reboot 6. install latest FF 7. Try again 8. Import bookmarks back

This is last resort but will more or less wipe clean any problems with a working FF.

Your System Details list shows some content blocking extensions, so make sure that you do not block these videos.

If you use a VPN then this can also affect data transfer.

You can check the connection settings.

  • Options/Preferences -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":
